Why students go
Most international students find their flat through an agency, and this is the highest-rated one in Pleven. Agencies see listings that never reach the public sites, and they handle the contract — which matters when you don’t read Bulgarian.
Before you sign anything
- Agency fee: typically half to one month’s rent, one-time. Ask the exact amount before viewings, not after you fall in love with a flat.
- Always view in person. Never transfer a deposit for a flat you’ve only seen in photos.
- Get the contract in writing — you need it for your address registration and residence permit.
- Non-EU students: confirm the landlord will provide the notarized declaration for your migration documents. If they refuse, walk away.
