Which office is yours
MU-Pleven has two separate student administration offices, and going to the wrong one is the single most common way to lose a morning.

Start at Room 138. If your question needs the faculty office, they’ll tell you — but they answer in English, and that matters more than it sounds when the question is about a document you can’t read.

The library
The university library is open to everyone and serves students, PhD candidates, specialising doctors and teaching staff.

Note it closes an hour and a half earlier on Fridays — easy to get caught out before a weekend of revision.

What we don’t know yet: whether there is any membership or printing charge, what you need to bring to register, and whether the reading rooms have different hours from the lending desk. We’d rather say so than guess. If you find out, tell us and we’ll publish it.
The student canteen (студентски стол)
There is a subsidised student canteen. The rules that actually affect you:
- Bring your MU-Pleven student ID card, every time. The card is what proves your status and unlocks the state subsidy. Turn up without it and you pay the full price — the regulations are explicit about this.
- It’s self-service, and meals are ordered in advance. You place an order rather than simply turning up and choosing.
- Two menu items are subsidised. Take more than two and the extras are charged at full cost, with no subsidy.
- You can’t lend your card to anyone, and you can’t take crockery out of the canteen.
What we don’t know yet: the canteen’s exact location, its opening hours, and what a meal costs. Hours are set by a Rector’s order rather than published as a standing timetable, and we haven’t been able to verify the current one. Help us fill this in →
The conference nobody tells first-years about
MU-Pleven runs an international scientific conference for students and young doctors every autumn — it’s in its 23rd year. If you have any interest in research, it’s the most accessible way in, and it happens on your own campus.
Getting around campus
The university publishes a virtual tour of its buildings. It’s genuinely useful before your first week — the Rectorate, the lecture halls and TELEC are not obvious from the street.
The Student Council runs campus orientation for new students: where the lecture halls are, where the library is, what you need for the first day. If you’re arriving in September, find them — that’s exactly what they’re there for.
