Who we are

Pleven Guide (plevenguide.com) is an independent, free guide for international students in Pleven, Bulgaria. It is operated by Bet Consulting LTD, Pleven, Bulgaria. For any privacy question, write to privacy@plevenguide.com.

Analytics — only with your consent

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages help students most — for example, whether people read the Housing guide or the Emergency page more.

• Analytics does not load at all until you press Accept on the cookie banner. If you press Decline, or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are set.
• IP addresses are anonymised.
• We see aggregate patterns — page views, country, device type — never who you are.
• To change your choice: clear this site's data in your browser settings, and the banner will appear again.

Google's own handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Your location

Category pages can sort places by distance from where you are. This is optional and only happens if you tap "Use my location" and allow it in your browser.

• Your coordinates are used in your browser only, to calculate distances.
• They are never sent to us or to any third party, and never stored on a server.
• They're kept in your browser's session storage so the setting survives page changes, and are gone when you close the tab.

The contact and suggestion form

If you write to us through Suggest a place or by email, we receive what you send — your message, and your name and email if you chose to add them (both optional).

• We use it only to answer you and to improve the guide.
• We never publish your name or email, and never share or sell your details.
• The form also records which page you came from, so we know what a report refers to.

Cookies and local storage

• Your cookie choice — stored in your browser so we don't ask on every page.
• Google Analytics cookies — only after you accept.
• Your location preference — session storage only, cleared when you close the tab.

We use no advertising cookies and no tracking pixels. There are no ads on this site.

Links to other websites

We link to Google Maps, business websites, the university, transport operators and similar. Once you follow a link, that website's own privacy policy applies — we have no control over it.

Your rights (GDPR)

Under EU data-protection law you can ask us to confirm what data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to its processing. Because we don't run accounts, in practice this usually means an email you sent us. Write to privacy@plevenguide.com and we'll deal with it promptly.

You also have the right to complain to the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP).

Children

This guide is written for university students and isn't aimed at children under 16.

Changes

If we change how the site handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
