Why students love it
Here’s something nobody tells you before arriving: most Bulgarian night clubs play pop-folk (chalga) — a local genre that’s an acquired taste for foreigners. Dumfies is the well-known exception: a live music pub with rock and other genres, and it’s where students who want a normal pub night end up.
Good to know
- Live gigs happen on certain nights — check their Facebook page for what’s on.
- Good place to meet Bulgarian students too, not just internationals.
- Drinks in Pleven are cheap: a beer typically costs a few euros or less.
