Why students go
The place to organise a football game in Pleven. Known locally as “Balona” — the balloon — on ul. Olimpiyska, roughly 1.8 km west of the Medical University, so a short bus or taxi ride rather than a walk.
Football is one of the easiest ways to meet people in a new city, and it needs no language at all. Get a group from your year together and split the cost.
Good to know
- No published opening hours and no phone number. We went looking and couldn’t find either — it may also be quiet over the summer. We’re checking again in September, when the season restarts, and will add them here.
- Until then, ask in your year’s group chat — someone has almost certainly played there and will know who to call.
- Pitches like this are normally rented by the hour, and the cost split between a group makes it cheap per person. Book ahead for evenings and weekends — that’s when everyone wants to play.
- Bring your own ball, and shoes suited to the surface.
